On October 20th, filmmakers from around Detroit gathered at a viewing party for WDIV Local 4's Film Challenge Detroit. With over 100 entries, the field was narrowed down to just 10 finalists. Each contestant was hoping to win the grand prize, a trip for four to the Sundance Film Festival and $1,000.

What is the Ann Arbor Film Festival?

With February passing us by just as quick as January did, we want to share awesome ways to spend your fleeting time getting to know the industry more intimately. Enter the 53rd Annual Ann Arbor Film Festival! The AAFF is a six day even that showcases over 180 films in a wide variety of genres including experimental, animation, documentaries, and much more. There are many now-famous directors who exhibited early works at the AAFF including George Lucas, Gus Van Sant, and Andy Warhol. This festival is the real deal by being one of the few Academy Award-qualifying film festivals in the country.
