The Great Lakes Broadcasting Conference (GLBC) is being held March 10-11 in Lansing, MI. The conference features educational and networking events for radio, television, and media professionals in the Midwest. The two days are full of great speakers including Specs Howard’s own Vice President of Education and Emmy award-winning, Steve Julin.
The conference sessions include topics ranging from Marketing Yourself, Intro into Sports Broadcasting, How do Millennials Consume Media?, Filmmaking with an iPhone6, and Localizing your Programming and Making your TV or Radio Station Visible. Many sessions happen at the same time so you will have to pick and choose which topics best fit you.
Students get a discounted rate of $40 if you register before February 16th. After February 16th, the price increases to $50. To register, click here. Dress to impress and bring copies of your resume. Many radio and television stations from around the Midwest are there looking to hire interns and employees. From 2pm to 3:30pm the Michigan Association of Broadcasters will be holding the Career Fair and Networking event during the conference.
