We’re all used to the Super Bowl being one of the most watched television events of the year, every year. 2015 was no exception, but what was special about the most recent Super Bowl was the fact that it has taken over social media and the Internet. It is quite amazing that something as simple as a football game can be utilized as a platform to bring important issues, fond memories and laughs to our homes in the form of ADVERTISEMENTS. We wanted to see how much of an impact the Super Bowl had on America this year, and we were surprised by what we found.

When most people think of the Super Bowl, most minds think of the collection of clever and humorous commercials shown each year, but this year was more than that. Companies have been utilizing more than just digital media to distribute these ads and it worked in their favor. Two extremely popular ads that stood out were Budweiser’s #BestBuds ad and Always’s Like a Girl ad were released on social media a few days before the big game.  The messages of friendship and equality were both big hits with viewers online and traditional viewers alike. If you missed them, check them out below!

There were collections of ads carrying a serious message along with it, but don’t think that cheeky humor was ejected from the game. Esurance helped Bryan Cranston bring back Heisenberg as "sort of a pharmacist," while Chevy instigated nationwide panic for about seven seconds with their entertaining ad. Super Bowl XLIX should be ranked as one of the best football events just from a commercial stance.
