During these weird times we have an amazingly talented 2020 Summer class graduating from Specs Howard School of Media Arts. We asked ourselves, "how are we going to have their ceremony? We can't do it in person like how we would like and normally would". Thanks to our amazing staff a successful live premiere of this years 2020 Summer Graduation Ceremony was held on YouTube on Thursday, July 16th, at 6 pm ETS.
Aside from the excitement of our newest graduates going through this amazing milestone, we had one fantastic Speaker for our grads, Fred Jacobs, the President of Jacobs Media.
Before we get into Fred's amazing speech, here's a bit about him...
Fred Jacobs founded Jacobs Media in 1983 and quickly became known for the creation of the Classic Rock radio format.
Jacobs Media has consistently walked the walk in the digital space, providing insights and guidance through its well-read national Tech surveys.
In 2008, jacapps was launched - a mobile apps company that has designed and built more than 1,300 apps for both the Apple and Android platforms. In 2013, the DASH Conference was created - a mashup of radio and automotive, designed to foster a better understanding of the "connected car" and its impact.
Along with providing the creative and intellectual direction for the company, Fred consults many of Jacobs Media's commercial and public radio clients, in addition to media brands looking to thrive in the rapidly changing tech environment.
Fred was inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame in 2018.
